Dr. Shaoxuan Liu received his Ph.D. in Operations Management from the University of California, Irvine and is currently the Director of Ningbo Supply Chain Innovation Institute China. He is also Research Affiliate at the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics.      

Prior to joining NSCIIC, he was a faculty member at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where he also served several academic and executive positions including Doctoral Supervisor, the Academic Director of the SJTU-MIT Leaders for Global Operations Executive Education Program and the Deputy Director of the Liberal Arts Development Division. He was a visiting scholar at MIT Sloan School of Management, and he was teaching and doing research at the Paul Merage School of Business of the University of California. He serves as a reviewer for premier academic journals such as Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, and Decision Analysis. He also serves as a reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong. Over the years, he has provided consulting and training services to a large number of enterprises such as Dell, Apple, Amazon, SAIC, Cisco, Honeywell, Esquel and Nike.
